Attending IMSH 2019 (International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare) was an unforgettable experience — a gathering where innovators, educators, and clinicians from around the world came together to redefine and redesign the future of healthcare simulation. Held in San Antonio, Texas, this year’s theme — “Healthcare Powered by Simulation” — perfectly captured the spirit of collaboration and creativity that drives this field forward.

The event provided a vibrant platform to explore advancements in simulation-based education, patient safety, and interprofessional learning. It was inspiring to connect with colleagues from diverse regions — each bringing unique perspectives on simulation design, operations, and teaching methodology.

One of the most memorable parts of the conference was the global representation — participants from across continents marking their home countries on the map, symbolizing the universal language of simulation in healthcare. The connections formed here continue to inspire cross-border learning and innovation. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of this international community of simulationists for learning, sharing, and growing together to strengthen healthcare education and patient outcomes around the world.
